Do you attribute your sins to God's will or your own free will? Do you choose to sin? In all depends on your take of things ;)
The comment that i deleted can be seen above. I think i needed to clarify myself, especially since it is you bik, a sloppy answer will never do for you, will it? If you are an absolutist then read the other half of this post. If not... Christianity preeches that one of God's greatest gift to mankind is Free Will yet it also preeches that let His Will be done on earth. Therein lies an opposing state, not in the purest of sense but in the sense that they are somewhat contrary to each other, not always of course. I don't think that all the choices that I have made on my own free conincide perfectly with God's will. Especially when I sin. It is this underlying tension that is part of life. The dilemma of sin and with it the rationalisation of sin. On another level, God's will is opposed to Free will or contrary or opposite to it because of their 2 distinct nature. The former possess a divine quality and the latter a more human quality. Not quite the opposite ends of a spectrum but good enough for a contrast. Anyhow, Photography like most art forms, is meant to stimulate to excite and to make us think. To stir up an opinion or an emotion. To make us question, the many truisms(even blog truisms like this!) that we are bombarded with.
i don't have a God. but i can understand when you say that your sins aren't God's will. and i don't doubt that God's will can be diametrically opposed to free will. but my perspective is that this is qualified. i think i believe that sometimes free will can be God's will (if you have a God). but! i am not challenging you. i agree with you.
Everything is qualified. I abhor absolutism. If you can "believe that sometimes free will can be God's will" then you have some preconceived notion of a God, and that is Your God. Start questioning it then. Don't "Occam's Razor" away God. Thats just being lazy. =D
BUT i should clarify. i quote "i think i believe that sometimes free will can be God's will (if you have a God)"
BUT i don't have a religion. and i don't believe in a religion. i can accept and understand that other people have a religion but i don't. to me therefore, i don't have a God. if things cannot be explained, then to me, it just can't be explained. i don't have to ascribe everything to a God.
Haahhahaa ok ok Bik, no more God discussions here ok!? Lets save that for MSN or over kopi! My post is and has always been about how we spend most of our life in between opposing states. That's all. God was merely an example from My life.

ok i'm not getting into an argument about God.

and lest i offend anyone, i should also clarify that i have nothing against any religion, or God.
he just doesn't exist for me (yet).
