Homo Humanis

Humans always assume that we are the supereme life being on this earth.
We are capable of cognitive thought, we are equipped with emotions, we are endowed with the powerful tool of imagination.
But do all these faculties and abilities really make as a superior being as compared to insects who are void of all these capabilities relying solely on instinct?
A soldier under enemy fire might be better off without having the emotion of fear. A jilted lover contemplating suicide would be better off without having the emotion of sorrow. The list is endless. I am not saying that emotions, thought, imgination etc are useless but rather that it does not really make us the supreme life form on this planet.
Yes, we are the only species smart enough to invent the atom bomb. BUT we are the only species foolish enough to use it on each other with scant disregard for its effects and consequences. (There are enough nuclear weapons around to destroy the earth many times over)
My point is that at the end of the day, the characteristics that we attribute to humanity should not be seen as a sign of superiority. They should be taken as just that, a description of a particular species, nothing more nothing less. Posted by Hello

Humans are clearly superior to insects. Insects are clearly inferior to humans. Man is to be judged by the product of his hands and the logic of his mind. An insect cannot be judged. It lacks the free will to engage in anything other than intuition. This alone demonstrates the superiority of man. Any human that denies his superiority relative to the insect is not even a man, and possibly as or more inferior than the insect. Naturally, a comparison between man and animal is one of apples and oranges. This does not negate the clear and unambiguous evidence that man is king. No mistake a man may make, except that when he denies his own superiority to the animals, can in any way neutralize his standing and superiority to that of the insect.

An ethical superior being wouldn't insist on his superiority.

So our superiority is just that: a mere descripte fact, which we were fools to demonstrate.
